This low-cost, high-performance I/O board is the ideal solution for FPGA development, providing 44 differential I/O channels and 2 SATA connectors for direct disk interface. Designed to support both High Pin Count (HPC) and Low Pin Count (LPC) FMC sites, the FMC-GPIO ensures flexibility and seamless integration with a wide range of FPGA platforms.
Equipped with 4 x 26-pin SDR-type connectors, this module enables high-speed data transfer, making it suitable for various applications. Two of these connectors are accessible via the LPC FMC, while the remaining two are available through an auxiliary card that can be inserted into a PC, PXIe, or other chassis systems. The auxiliary board connects to the FMC module via off-board headers using flex cables (152660343), offering more options for integrating with external platforms.
The FMC-GPIO is a pass-through unit, allowing users to configure I/O voltages directly through the FPGA core. This feature simplifies interfacing with external devices, ensuring maximum compatibility with different voltage levels and system requirements.
Breaking down the SDR-type connector capabilities:
- SDR1 provides 11 differential I/O pairs, including 1 clock-capable pair, accessible on the LA bank via LPC FMC.
- SDR2 offers 11 differential I/O pairs, with 2 clock-capable pairs, also available on the LA bank via LPC FMC.
- SDR3 contains 11 differential I/O pairs, with 10 pairs connected to the HA bank and 1 clock-capable pair on the LA bank, accessible on HPC FMC.
- SDR4 features 11 differential I/O pairs, including 3 clock-capable pairs, accessible on the HA bank via HPC FMC.
Additionally, the FMC-GPIO includes 1 transceiver on the LA bank and another on the HA bank, supporting an optional dual SATA configuration for direct disk interfacing. One SATA connector is available on LPC FMC, while the other is accessible through HPC FMC carriers (requires an I/O core for operation).
Designed for commercial and industrial applications, the FMC-GPIO serves as a cost-effective and versatile I/O board for FPGA development. Its robust feature set makes it an excellent choice for demanding applications such as defense, signal communication, and high-speed data transfer.
